In each Reserve coffee, the producer takes advantage of each specific terroir, i.e. the local climate, soil quality and topography. They grow different varieties for their high quality and distinct taste characteristics. After harvesting, through advanced processing methods, they bring out these characteristics within the green coffee beans. So, after roasting them precisely, we can offer you some really great coffees.
Ninety Plus Gesha Batch #23125: A Symphony of Floral Elegance
Ninety Plus is renowned for its unmatched track record in developing competition-winning coffees and crowning champions on the international stage. With roots in the highlands of Southern Ethiopia, Ninety Plus has been expanding taste horizons since 2008. The brand’s expansion to the highlands of Western Panama in 2010 allowed it to curate the most celebrated Gesha coffees in the world at The Barú Project. Ninety Plus leverages its deep experience in Ethiopia’s wild coffee forests to integrate coffee ecologically, focusing on low density and high flavor. The company continues to innovate and support competition-level coffees from the most select sections of The Barú Project. With leading ecological practices, Ninety Plus is committed to delivering the best coffees in the world directly from farm to market.
This batch, harvested on 26-Jan-2023, comes from Estate #149 located on the western side of Gesha Estates at an elevation of 1,470 meters. The estate covers a total area of 1.37 hectares, with trees that are five years old. The coffee undergoes Ninety Plus’s traditional Washed process, a method known for producing clean and bright flavor profiles with typical citrus and floral notes. After the wet portions of the processing are finished, the coffee is dried on raised dual-level drying tables in the Ninety Plus Red Room. Once dried to about 11.5% humidity, the coffee is rested for 30-60 days before being milled for export.
The Thermolic Washed™ process was first successful in 2014, when coffee from Ninety Plus Gesha Estates in Panama won the World Brewers Cup in Rimini. This process, combined with Ninety Plus’s Folio™ version, enhances the flavor experience to new heights. The result is a coffee with tasting notes of jasmine honeysuckle, ginseng, and petunia. Each cup of Batch #23125 offers a symphony of floral elegance, reflecting the meticulous care and innovation behind its production.
