In each Reserve coffee, the producer takes advantage of each specific terroir, i.e. the local climate, soil quality and topography. They grow different varieties for their high quality and distinct taste characteristics. After harvesting, through advanced processing methods, they bring out these characteristics within the green coffee beans. So, after roasting them precisely, we can offer you some really great coffees.
Finca Monte Verde is an example of successful intergenerational transmission, started by Alejandro Gutiérrez and passed on to Gildardo Gutiérrez, his grandson. Gildardo, who has lived and raised his children in Monte Verde for the past 50 years, was the first to introduce varieties with exceptional potential to the estate. This geisha comes from Finca Monteverde in Tolima, Colombia. Giraldo Gutierrez Falla and the Gutierrez Falla family have grown this variety on their farm, among other coffee varieties such as Wush Wush, Red and Yellow Bourbons and Moccas. For more than 70 years they have been growing their coffees in Monteverde and the quality has always remained constant. All coffees are harvested as they reach the desired maturity and are fully controlled from fermentation to drying. They offer rich and high-quality varieties that are rarely available, such as their Geisha.
This Geisha coffee is naturally anaerobically processed and grown at 1750 MASL in Tolima, Colombia. Its characteristics are lemongrass, clove and cherry. The body is creamy and the aftertaste of cocoa and grapefruit!
