Ndaroini Factory is located in Nyeri District, one of the most important coffee producing areas in Kenya. The factory was established as part of the Gikanda Farmers’ Cooperative Society and now operates independently, serving approximately 3,200 farmers from the local community. The varieties grown are SL-28, SL-34, Ruiru 11 and Batian, in clay-rich soils and at altitudes of up to 1800 meters.The washed processing follows the classic Kenyan methodology: careful sorting, pulping and fermentation for 12–18 hours, with drying in raised beds. The use of eco-pulper reduces water consumption, while the residues are used by the farmers as fertilizer. All stages are carefully controlled to maintain purity and accuracy in the cup.We chose this particular lot for its intense fruity identity, elegant body and sticky texture. It is a coffee with a complex character, full of layers of red fruit and stone fruit, which performs very well in filter preparations. It represents the richness and dynamics of the Kenyan terroir.
