How to Brew Coffee with AeroPress

    What is the AeroPress?

The AeroPress is one of the most versatile and beloved coffee brewing methods — ideal for both home baristas and professionals. It combines immersion, pressure, and paper filtration to produce cups that are clean, balanced, and sweet. Lightweight, travel-friendly, and easy to clean, it invites experimentation with grind size, brew time, and water ratio — making it a favorite in the world of specialty coffee.

    Dose & Preparation (Classic Method)

      • Coffee: 15 gr

      • Water: 220g at 93°C

      • Grind: Medium-fine (like table salt)

      • Brew time: ~2:00 minutes

      • Filter: Paper, rinsed

      • Equipment: AeroPress, scale, timer, stirrer

    Step-by-Step Instructions (Classic Method)

    StepDescription
    1. Rinse the filterPlace the paper filter in the cap and rinse it with hot water. Attach the cap to the brewing chamber.
    2. Add the coffee: Add 15g of ground coffee to the chamber.
    3. Pour the water: Pour 220g of water at 93°C quickly to saturate the grounds.
    4. Stir: Gently stir for 5–7 seconds using the AeroPress paddle.
    5. Cap and wait: Insert the plunger and pull slightly to create a seal. Let it steep until 1:30.
    6. Press: Press slowly and steadily for 20–30 seconds. Aim to finish around 2:00.
    7. Serve & enjoy:Drink as is or dilute with a bit of water or ice to taste.

    Common AeroPress Mistakes

Inverted Method – for More Body and Intensity

If you prefer a fuller-bodied and more intense cup, try the inverted method, where the AeroPress is assembled upside down (plunger on the bottom). This gives you greater control over steep time. Our go-to inverted recipe: 15g coffee + 220g water, total brew time 2:00. Stir at 0:30, flip at 1:45, press at 2:00. The result is a rounder, sweeter brew — especially great for natural processed or fruity coffees.
