Description
The Danche Washing Station, located in Chelbesa, Gedeo, is operated by our partners at SNAP Coffee. Situated between 2000–2300 masl, it receives cherries from around 400 smallholders. The region’s climate allows for slow cherry maturation, which leads to complex and expressive coffees.
This lot undergoes a meticulous natural process, with hand sorting, fermentation, and drying on raised beds for 8–20 days. The result is a juicy and vibrant cup with notes of red fruit, caramel, black tea, and floral undertones.
This coffee was personally selected by Alexandros Fouki during his trip to Ethiopia in February 2025. His visit to Danche confirmed the outstanding quality of this lot. For us at Handpickers, it represents a direct connection to origin and a celebration of flavour discovery.
