Buku Abel is a washing station founded in 2019 in Hambela, Guji. Perched at 1900–2100m with rich red soils and ideal sunlight, it gathers cherries from around 500 smallholders who cultivate heirloom varieties on 0.5–2 ha plots using traditional methods.The coffee undergoes the traditional Ethiopian washed process: depulping, underwater fermentation, washing, and drying on raised beds. This technique creates a clean, bright, and complex aromatic profile that defines top Guji coffees.We selected this lot for its explosive brightness and refined fruit structure. It embodies the craftsmanship of Hambela’s farmers, delivering an espresso that is elegant, vibrant, and unmistakably Ethiopian.
